Lacrimology / Dry Eye Treatment

Tired, irritated red eyes?

Finding it hard to wear your contacts?

Can’t seem to use enough eye drops to keep your eyes moist?

Is your vision clear one day, and blurry the next?

There is no reason you have to live like this! These are all symptoms of Dry Eye Syndrome, a medical condition of the eyes that if left untreated can cause significant, discomfort and loss of vision.

Thankfully, treatment is available. Its called Punctal Occlusion. On each eyelid is a tiny drainage port called a Puncta, where all your tears drain off the eye, into the nasal system, and down your throat. For many dry eye sufferers, this drainage system works a little too well, robbing the eye’s surface of its moisturizing tear film.

We slow or stop this drainage by occluding these Puncta by using a small collagen or silicone implant that acts like a stopper in a tub, to keep your tears on your eye where they are needed. It is a painless, simple in office procedure that can solve the problems faced by many dry eye patients. It can even let people return to contact lens wear when they have had to quit due to dry lenses.

The tear film is the first lens for your vision system, and if your tear film isn’t working correctly, your clarity of vision can suffer and fluctuate. Thankfully, diagnosing and treating Dry Eye Syndrome is possible.

Call the Doctors Clear View Vision Care to schedule a consultation. We’ll determine if you have Dry Eye Syndrome, and help you get the treatment you need.
