Personalized Eye Exam: Experience Clear View Vision Care
Getting an eye exam is an essential first step towards having your specific vision problems identified or diagnosed. It involves a series of tests to help pinpoint where the trouble lies. Here’s what to expect from an eye exam.
During a routine eye exam at Clear View Vision Care, your doctor will work towards evaluating different aspects of your vision or eye health, and will check for any eye diseases. Often, if eye problems are detected early on, they’re easier to correct by prescribing eyeglasses, contact lenses, or having you undergo refractive surgery.
Count on our optometrist, Dr. Jeffrey Martin, a graduate of the prestigious Southern California College of Optometry, to personally address your concerns and provide you with tailor-fit solutions to address your specific condition. A comprehensive eye exam will allow him to better evaluate your eyes and check for clues to other related health issues, such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
The Eye Exam Process
The examination process begins with your optometrist asking you about your medical history and probing to find out more about any vision issues you may be having. It’s important you be thorough about sharing essential information, including any health problems you’ve had in recent years, medications you’re currently taking, and your family history of eye problems, such as macular degeneration or glaucoma. Also important to mention are general health conditions you may have, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, or any similar health problems.
Your optometrist will also use several instruments, including different lenses, and will shine lights in your eyes as part of your thorough eye examination. He’ll have you read from a chart to measure your visual acuity and determine whether you need glasses or contact lenses. He’ll also measure your eye pressure and examine the inside of your eye.
